Well, here is the first video of it.
Well, here is the first video of it.
So first there was the commitment to my games and the faire sites. I am really trying to make the games as successful as they were five years ago and Prax and I have a big idea in the works for the faire stuff.
Then there was the drinking, I'm done. Three weeks gone with no problems. Thanks to all for the kind words and support. Fortunately I don't suffer from addiction so stopping has been more a part of breaking habits then anything. It was very odd being at faire and not drinking for the past three weeks.
Saturday brought my commitment to Prax to the forefront. She said to my proposal at Pubsing. Thanks to all who shared in the moment and offered their congratulations.
Finally is the change in my health. I have not been doing to well lately. Headaches, insomnia and worst of all is that several of the lumps have gotten large. I put it all to stress.
Back when I met Prax I did all I could to get well for her. I walked and worked out and changed my diet and took my meds and went for treatment and on and on and on. We both got comfortable and our eating habits got horrid and our daily excercising became a memory.
We are making a change in that. We are starting back on our healthier diet soon. On the plus sides are that neither of us like boxed and canned foods. Both of us can cook and we live within walking distance of the baltimore market system and a whole foods. We both love fresh and we enjoy our meats.
Before we start the diet and the exercise routine though, we are doing a fat flush. Ugh UGh UGH! I get to drink a cup of dirt jello and a glass of hot lemon water in the morning. One of my meals is fruit and whey protein smoothy. And the other two involve fruits veggies and a bit of meat. My two biggest problems are, and always have been, salt and portion size.
No salt for us for a while and if you have never tried to cook salt free it is a challenge. Salt irritates the taste buds so it makes all of the tastes seem stronger. It's not only hard to cook without using salt but to find foods that have no salt.
So that's where I am, looking forward to the new and improved Lumpy. I hope I'm worth it.

I just wanted to say thank you everyone who offered their congratulations, well wishes, and ears (I couldn't stop talking for fear I would explode). An extra thanks to the folks who took pictures and video (and are going to share them). A final thanks to Tim (Jack Rackham) and all of the fantastic performers whose stage we crashed.
I wanted it to be special, something we wouldn't forget, and my friends and family made that happen. Thanks again to all of you.
PS: Yes, that was my 18yo daughter.

The Circle of Fantasy Roleplaying Life:
- Enchantment:You begin a new campaign. How exciting! As you play, you will eventually experience…
- Disillusionment: You notice all the flaws in the campaign. Loot distribution is uneven. The house rules outnumber the core rules, and the only person who knows these house rules is the DM. Some players (not you) are taking center stage. Some players greatly overpower others. The plot is on rails and none of the NPCs are likeable. You decide to cope with this through…
- Long Suffering: Deal with it - bad DMs happen. Give the guy a chance to learn. When the campaign gets worse it will be time to engage in…
- Sabotage: Try to run the campaign off the rails and kill off major characters, just to break free and do something that isn’t being imposed on you. If you’re still not having fun…
- Confrontation: Talk to the DM and let him or her know your concerns. If this doesn’t transform them into a great DM, then you may be obliged to resort to…
- Coup d’état: Get the players together and tell the DM that his work just isn’t cutting it. Appoint someone else to run the campaign. However, the DM might mange to retain power. If he owns all the books, all the dice, and you meet at his house, then kicking him out isn’t usually an option. If you can’t depose him, then the only thing left is…
- Exile: Make up some lame excuse about getting a girlfriend / boyfriend or a new job and find a new gaming group. Then the cycle begins anew.
It has its low moments, but I still love this game.
